What is the purpose of collecting and processing the data?
The data we collect from you is important to enable us to update and inform you of our fairs, call for entries and activities. If you are a maker and interested in applying for one of our fairs, or you are interested in visiting, when you have signed up and provided your contact details, we will send you relevant information about our shows. For example, if you are a maker we will send you an email when we open our call for applications.
If you are a maker and are selected for one of our shows, we store the data you have provided on your application form to contact you with information you need to exhibit at the show. With your permission we will store this data and let you know by email when we announce other calls for applications.
The data also helps us to understand our user base and report to our funders (such as Arts Council England) about the geographic profile of our audiences. It also allows us to send you information regarding website or Great Northern Events policy changes, such as modifications to our Terms & Conditions.
We do not share your personal data with third parties or send you e newsletters without your prior consent – you must give us your consent by subscribing to our mailing list.
Who is processing your data?
Great Northern Events NW Ltd, the not for profit company that organises the Great and Little Northern Contemporary Craft Fairs and GNCCF Live, is collecting and processing your data. We collect personal data from you when you register to join our mailing list to receive our newsletter, or to hear about how to apply for one of our shows, and other information about our organisation. This data is protected by UK data protection law.

We ask you to provide us with your name and your email address and the first 4 digits of your post code ( This is to report to our funders about the geographic profile of our audiences).
If you have requested to receive our information through the post:-
We ask you to provide us with your name, and full postal address.
What are the outcomes of data processing?
You only receive our electronic/postal communications if you have expressly requested them by subscribing to our mailing list.
How can I change, unsubscribe or delete my information?
You can opt-out from our communications by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any electronic communication you receive from us. Alternatively please use the contact details within this document.
Your data will be deleted permanently within one week of our receiving your request. You are welcome to sign up again at a later date if you choose.
How can I exercise my rights?
