GREEN GRADS is the innovatory platform for new UK graduates “with ideas to heal the planet.” Founded in 2021 by multi award-winning design journalist Barbara Chandler, known for her long running pages in the London Evening Standard, GREEN GRADS is now in its 4th year and represents around 200 UK graduates, who’ve been promoted through shows at major venues, intimate salons, Instagram (@greengradsuk), a website and a YouTube channel. Michael Czerwinski of Studio Tucktite is co-director and show producer.

“Our vision is to fuel UK environmental action with new talent from UK Universities.”

GREEN GRADS come from a wide range of disciplines, from art to engineering, additionally including product and furniture design, materials innovation, animation, graphics, ceramics, glass, textiles, fashion, interior design and architecture.

GREEN GRADS IN THE NORTH sees a select cohort of 23 of the graduates of 2024, all with making at the heart of their practice. They are coming from all over the country to fill the picturesque blue Edwardian changing cubicles of Manchester’s Victoria Baths. Their products/projects will explore such environmental issues as creative use of waste, biodesign, local production, restoring the value of British wool, cherishing our native woodlands, circular making and minimising carbon footprints.

The GREEN GRADS will tell the stories of their projects, sell exclusive editions of their art, sculpture, graphics, furniture, ceramics, textiles, fashion and homewares, and some will also be showing off their skills.
